Maura entered our Rescue
Program with a serious upper respiratory infection. She lost 2-1/2
pounds in just 10 days and had to be fed high calorie food by hand,
using a syringe. Thankfully, she recovered from that illness and has

Maura's next struggle is with Heartworm Disease. Neglected at her
previous home, Maura didn't receive heartworm preventative, so she is
Heartworm Positive. She has just started the specialized treatment to
rid her of the disease and must be restrained from any activities for
the next 30 days.
Once Maura's Heartworm Treatment is complete, she will be spayed and
then will be available for adoption.
Maura is just one year old.
Because this treatment is expensive, we are asking those that are able,
to donate a small amount to Maura's Care. We currently have
several Scotties that are requiring additional medical attention and
testing, which is stressing our already tight budget. We need your
help so we can continue to do our work to save Scotties in need.
