When we picked up
Maddox from a local shelter, we had no idea he was a Texan. How could he
be? He's a Scottish Terrier... Well, as they say, "the proof is in the pudding", and that certainly holds true with this guy. Evidently, during his multiple break-outs from his home (which obviously didn't have a securely fenced yard), we believe Maddox started performing in the rodeo. Yep, his front legs are bowed out, so he MUST have been a rodeo star! Well, if the bowed out front legs didn't come from performing in the rodeo, then what happened? Our Vet took several x-rays and it appears Maddox may have suffered a fracture during one of his outings and it was never treated, or he has a deformity from birth. It's just too close to call. But in either case, he gets around great, just with an occasional minor limp. And if wandering the streets so many times wasn't enough for this guy, he tested positive for heartworms and had a nasty scrape on his belly that was infected. But everything is better now! No more heartworms, no more infection, no worries about broken bones, or wondering where his next meal was coming from. His only concern is finding a family that will love and protect him forever. Are you the family Maddox is searching for? Maddox has had a full medical exam by our Veterinarian, received all necessary vaccinations, completed heartworm treatment, and has been neutered and microchipped. We estimate his age at 5 years. Come visit Maddox and see if he isn't the happiest guy you've seen in a long, long time! Scottie Kingdom Rescue is a 501(c)3 Non Profit Organization. We prefer to adopt to families with past Scottie, Westie and/or Terrier experience, but realize this isn’t always possible. You must have a secure & fenced yard. We do not ship our pets. If you have that special place in your heart & in your home for a Scottie (or any of our other available Rescue Dogs), please be prepared to visit us in Dallas for an in person meet & greet session with our Available Dogs. If you have existing pets, they must travel to Dallas with you, so we can be assured that they will be compatible with the new addition to your family. Please contact us at Rescue@scottiekingdom.com to receive an Adoption Application or for more information on our Adoption process. Also, please take the time to visit our website www.scottiekingdom.com for further information. Thank you for considering Adoption! |
