Little Elyse hasn't had much luck in her
first weeks of life, but we're hoping to change that. First, she was
sold to a pet store, who then sold her to a family that wasn't familiar
with Scottish Terriers. They returned her within 72 hours because of
problems with her rear legs. There was a lot of discussion about
euthanizing this tiny precious baby. Thankfully, a friend of Scottie Kingdom Rescue heard of Elyse's plight, and asked the pet store to surrender her to us. We believe Elyse has Scottie Cramp, which is a hereditary disorder that occurs in some Scotties. It is not at all painful, rather, it involves the 'garbling' of signals from the brain to the rear legs during times of high stress, which makes the dog's rear legs have a different 'gate' than most dogs. Elyse has now been seen by our Vet, who also believes she has Scottie cramp. Elyse is ready for adoption to a qualified home with Scottish Terrier, Westie or Special Needs experience. All dogs adopted by Scottie Kingdom Rescue have had a full medical exam by our Veterinarian and have received all necessary vaccinations, in addition to being spayed/neutered and microchipped. Because we want to assure you of the health of our adoptable pets, we include a 30 day pet health and accident insurance policy, at no cost to you. Scottie Kingdom Rescue is a 501(c)3 Non Profit Organization. We prefer to adopt to families with past Scottie, Westie and/or Terrier experience, but realize this isn’t always possible. We do not ship our pets. If you have that special place in your heart &
in your home for a Scottie (or any of our other available Rescue Dogs),
please be prepared to visit us in Dallas for an in person meet & greet
session with our Available Dogs.
